Annual Coalition Convening & Tribal Site Visit

June 18-19, 2024  |  Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel  |  Sisseton, South Dakota

Please join us this summer as we:

• Connect with peers working to increase Native homeownership in their communities
• Learn about the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe’s progress with housing, development, and homeownership efforts.
• Hear stories of homeownership journeys from tribal members
• Share updates about the exciting work happening within the Coalition and hear the impacts being made

Driving Directions

For both days of our Annual Coalition & Tribal Site Visit, we will be meeting at the Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel at 16849 102nd St SE in Hankinson, North Dakota. Driving to the destination is straightforward but here are directions for your convenience.

From Sioux Falls Regional Airport

If you are traveling from Sioux Falls Airport, you have about a 2 hour & 30-minute drive to the Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Get onto N Minnesota Ave (I-29 N).
• Turn left onto W 60th St N
• Turn right to merge onto the ramp to get on I-29 N.
• Take exit 1 toward 102nd St SE.

From Hector International Airport (Fargo)

If you are traveling from Fargo, you have about a 1 hour & 3-minute drive to the Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Head south on Dakota Dr toward old Hwy 81.
• Turn right onto 19th Ave N.
• Merge onto I-29 S/US-81 S via the ramp to Sioux Falls.
• Take exit 1 toward 102nd St SE.

Registration

Registration for this year’s Annual Coalition Convening & Tribal Site Visit is $200 per person. Current 2024-2025 members will receive a 50% discount.

Registration deadline is June 7th, 2024.

Travel Assistance

The South Dakota Native Homeownership Coalition has a limited number of travel stipends available to help offset a portion of travel costs incurred by member organizations to these events. Eligibility for stipends is limited to members of the South Dakota Native Homeownership Coalition. Members must be current on membership dues. Members required to provide homeownership data must be up to date on reporting in order to be eligible for travel stipends. Questions regarding data reporting can be directed to Elias Mendoza at emendoza@lakotafunds.org or 605-515-8968. The Coalition can provide travel scholarships based on the following:

• One stipend of $250 per member organization
• Stipends will be disbursed following the event

If you would like to apply for travel assistance, please indicate this on your registration form and a staff member will follow up with you. 

Lodging

Because these events will take place during a busy tourist season, we encourage you to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. Rooms are limited. We have blocked rooms at several hotels in the area. All reservations and special rates are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
